Description
An account of the resource
Mr. Howard Myers collection features objects from Adath Israel--the synagogue in Hopkinsville, as well as records, objects, and images from his aunts’ clothing store, Arnold’s. The Myers family opened Arnold’s in the 1935 in downtown Hopkinsville and served the Hopkinsville community until the 1990s. Adath Israel closed in 1977; soon after the congregation dissolved, the roof of the building collapsed in a snow storm. Mr. Myers’ collection includes a Torah cover, wrought iron, and light fixtures from the synagogue.
